Blade forged from some mythril stone magic resistant slightly {Weapon in the picture}
History:
Galos Creed lived as an orphan for as long as he can remember, he learned that he had an affinity for light magic like most casters which was affective against demons but he never relied on magic, he decided to rely on his skills and wits. He met a sword-master who taught him the art of the blade, and how to create weapons. It was a Paladin named Khelsi Bale and in forging blades being around the flames it seems that it got assimilated into his magical ability. His magical ability is a mix of fire and light and instead of creating barriers of light alone he had the power to incinerate demons as well. That type of talent wasn't enough though which is what Khelsi taught him as he made weapons but against a powerful magic imbued weapon his blades would break.
Khelsi had gotten a hold of some Mythril stones for Galos not enough to create a full blade but enough to create a durable weapon that he could reforge if need be.
Galos just created this weapon and now has to master his abilities and his newly created blade which is more then meets the eye called ETERNIUM.
Likes:
Galos likes training, and working on his magic. He may be an orphan which is not unheard of at these times but he doesn't let that get him down. He likes Khelsi who has been helping him. Eternium
Dislikes:
The Darkness, demons, the kingdom at times
Extra:
He is training even though he is a caster he was taught that relying on his caster ability would make him weak. He is training for battle to be on par with Paladins, or knights. Also Eternium has its own... secrets
The King sat in a dark room with a circular table and five cloaked figures in the seats around it. he looked ill at the report in his hands. "you are sure?" he whispers.
Lord Phineus, Master of the Casters guild stood and nodded "we have been using our magic to attune with the light spirits on the ground, the ones that have managed to survive confirm that there is no safe harbor on the ground." he said grimly.
Lord Talos, the leader of the Paladins stood "sir, we have had success in the past of setting up temporary base on the ground below..." he started.
"BUT A WHOLE CITY! don't be mad, that would require more energy then we have."the king interrupted. "and besides, we need as many magic users up here so that if we should start to fall, we can atleast have trained paladins to put up walls around us, and casters to defend our borders. no, we need to use the only resource we have free." the king says. "the brightest children from all the schools of magic will be sent below to push back and create a big enough cleansed area for the city. atleast they can make an area big enough for us to land and find more aether crystals." the king says in a low voice.
"there must be another way." one man shouts
"there is not." the king says.
"sir, someone would have to go in advanced to cleanse a camp, and we have flown right over an area no man can come back from without going mad with darkness." another man says.
"I know...that is why we will not be sending a man down to cleanse a camping ground and protect the young ones." the king says. "we have to trust that he is still alive inside that beast downstairs." the king says.
"you don't mean..."
"I do. he is our only hope." the king says. "bring him to me."
30 minutes later.
four guards walk into the chamber carrying a large cage. they lay it down and remove the tarp.
"well, if it isn't my king...but hold on, you look different. is it, perhaps the hair? you look older." the man in the cage says.
"I am not the king who imprisoned you...that was my father." the king says.
"oh I know. I never forget a face, and the last time I saw yours, you where just a small prince, barely old enough to start his training. tell me, is that little boy still in there? your face is stern enough, but your eyes. it is still the same feared look you had when I burst into the castle all those years ago. ranting, yelling for the king to look at what he had created. his orders where followed to a T, I did everything I was asked. I gave up my light, my Humanity for his curiosity and it got me locked up for 50 years, now tell me does that sound fair?" the man said.
"enough! Richard Dupre, as King of Astaria, I grant you your freedom and your right to live, on the condition that you do just one final job in the name of your kingdom." the king says.
"my freedom? my right to live? firstlyy, if you could kill me I'd be dead, of that I am certain, secondly why should I believe you, your father certainly couldn't keep promises. "you will be commended, no matter the outcome of this experiment." yeah, that sure worked out in my favor didn't it." Richard says rolling his eyes.
"I am not my father. and you can trust in my desperation. Astaria is falling, and it is falling straight for the dark world below. you are the only one who can cleanse the part of the world we are in, it is too dark for any man, even the strongest paladin we have to pull off." the king says.
"an entire city wide chunk of darkness to cleanse? sounds easy." he says jokingly "surely you don't expect me to do it by myself."
"no, you will have a team. once you cleanse a wide enough area for a camp we will send them down and you will work with them to help Astaria touch the ground for the first time since we left it."the king tells him.
"Fine. should be fun, gets me out of this cage anyway." he says grinning.
Galos is bandaging up his hand as he was practicing with his newly forged blade eternium.
Using a blade forged with Mythril stone was much heavier then a normal blade, he at times wonder why Khelsi insisted he create a sword but he was happy he did eternium handled well he just had to get use to it.
He still had flashbacks to when Khelsi taught him how to use a sword at a young age....teaching how to forge like the Mythril knights
Flashback:
"Paladin Bale... im ready for training" he says new to the kingdoms recruits ... he saw an armored warrior and he was intimidated and when the helmet came off he was surprised to see long blonde hair.
[Khelsi]: "No need for the formalities young caster, thy name is Khelsi be sure to use it... and young one your name?" she asked
[Galos]: "Galos Creed i've been told....but aren't you a Paladin shouldn't i be trained by someone else" he said
[Khelsi]: "Yes well i don't train any apprentices... since I recently became a Paladin but the kingdom gave me the opportunity and Paladins create other Paladins, Mythril knights beget Mythril knights and the casters like yourself will be trained to hide behind your ability. The darkness is getting stronger, demons are getting stronger our method is not working and i want to try creating something new and the gifted are few in numbers" she replied.
Galos looked at her "I don't quite understand... but i was told to register with the school first" he says
Khelsi stops him..."That is the reason i requested to see you first you'll be my paige and not register with the school but you need to hide your ability and i will personally train you, and those i trust" she says
Galos looked confused.... as Paiges had no magical talent they just served the Paladin or knights they were trained to defend themselves and forge weapons but that was all but that is how it all began. Long training while trying to master his own ability.
Present
Galos wrapped up his arm as he was done remembering.... he wanted to change the rules....he turned to his blade..."Now that i forged you Eternium soon we'll search for a way to help save the land" he says
Currently, Signum ran around her family's mansion for the twenty-third time. Her legs ached and her breathing lacked some air, still, she continued on. The knight started early in the morning and now was near lunch. She just decided for one last final push and with that, achieved her new record of laps around her house. Sweaty and dirty, she sneaked carefully and entered the house. Two times she was almost caught by patrols or maids but other than that, she was fine. She bathed and sighed in relief as she slightly relaxed her body.
Knock knock
"Who is it?" Signum asked.
"It's lunch!" Her older sister yelled to her, the voice slightly muffled by the door.
The relaxation on the Mythril Knight's body disappeared and she quickly washed herself off, even attempting to wipe off the frown that appeared on her face.
She dressed up in casual clothing and made her way towards the dining room.
- - - - - - - - - -
Signum opened the door and she received glances of people. It varied in emotion. Her brothers that of worry, her sisters with annoyance, and her parents that of anger.
As she made her way to her own seat besides her sister (no matter how much she absolutely hated it), she sat down and glanced at her father. She knew that she'd be scolded so she didn't touch her food.
The verbal scolding began.
All of them except Signum's father and her didn't touch their food. Her sisters kept eating while they smirk, her brothers ate and sometimes gave a short glance at her, and her mother didn't do anything, only continued to eat her own food, minding her own business.
It all ended within five minutes. After that, without much difference in expression, Signum ate her food in silence.
- - - - - - - - - -
"Are you sure you will go now?" One of her brother asked with concern.
"Yeah. Thanks for worrying, brother. I'll return to school. Can't take any of this any longer. It's kind of too much." She laughed it off as she ruffled her hair in embarrassment and shame.
"I see..." Taking that as her turn to mount her horse, she did.
"Bye bye..." She whispered as she rode off towards her school.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Galos walked to meet up with Khelsi... as she was teaching the class of new Paladins today.
Since she refused the right to have apprentices because she doesn't want the court to know her plans for dealing with demons.
They were too rigorous any change in the system will throw their world into chaos it was bad enough that there were rumors of the king pardoning a being with dark magic.
Galos met up with Khelsi...."I apologize for my lateness master ...i was practicing with my newly forged blade" he said bowing
[Khelsi] "Be careful Paige... i am Paladin Bale at the school you are not my apprentice on the school grounds... now lets be on our way" she says
They walked into school.. and Galos saw the casters practicing their magic but he saw they were having trouble. Some kinds were bending elements and Galos had thought of how great it would be to be part of the class also.
Khelsi made it to the group she was supposed to be teaching today....
[Khelsi]"ok time to teach you all how to become Paladins....this is my Paige Galos...and he will assist me in my demonstrations" she says as Galos waved.
Khelsi created a barrier of light that no weapon could pierce as Galos used different weapons testing its integrity. The students were surprised at the strength of her barriers especially for a woman.
"...a dragon? thats impossible, they died out years ago." xander overheard a boy say. Xander stood up and walked over to the boys who where arguing. "how do you know they are dead?" Xander asked.
"well, because my dad said so." the boy says.
"how does your dad know?" Xander asked.
"he is a knight, he has been to the surface." the boy says matter-of-factly
"well maybe he wasn't in the right area." xander says.
"no one has seen one for hundreds of years." the boy cries out.
"so? that means they are all dead?" Xander says. "maybe they are hiding."
"that is stupid, why would a dragon hide?" the boy says, looking at Xander like he is weird.
"maybe they are hiding from the darkness...or maybe they are hiding from us." Xander says. "dragons are smart, and before they disappeared we used to ride them like they where simple horses. I hear the city uses magic drained from a dragons heart to stay in the air." Xander says.
"who told you that?" the boy questions.
"my friend. he sees things. and he lets me see it too." Xander says as a small white whisp flows out of his body and takes the form of a small dragon. "he says that humans drove the dragons into hiding, out of fear. the dragons only sought the knowledge of the world, and the humans only sought to control it. or atleast, that's what my friend says." Xander whispers, almost to himself.
"you're crazy, there's nothing even there." the boy says, stepping back. "I don't even believe in the gifted. it's all lies told by magic-less crazies." the boy says walking away.
Xander leaned against the wall and sighed. "see, I told you. no one will listen to me Nemo." Xander says. Nemo rubs against his legs like a cat and makes a high pitched purring sound only Xander can hear.
Galos assisted Khelsi as she demonstrated the various abilities that Paladins have....
[student]"That is awesome.... so demons cannot penetrate your barriers can I try to see if i can create a barrier strong like you" he asked
[Khelsi]: "Sure it may not be as strong but as long as you get the basics you'll be able to create one" she says...."And your name is" she asked the boy
[Student]: "Irvine ...i'm Irvine Paladin Bale..." he says
Khelsi instructs him and the boy create a barrier that is clearly weaker then Khelsi's but stronger then the average beginner. The other students strike his barriers to see how durable it is, but no one succeeds.
[Irvine] "Wow... what about you Paige why don't you try your luck against my Barrier" he says
Galos nods..."No its ok i only assist Paladin Bale" he says
Irvine smirks "Well that is understandable someone without magic would fear showing the entire class how weak they truly are in front of the whole class" he says
[Khelsi] "No.. .. Galos it is ok... test out Irvine's barrier and use the blade on your waist" she orders
Galos looks at her... he couldn't believe she would suggest he use a newly forged blade against a magical barrier but he has to keep up appearances and he unsheathed eternium...
Galos gets in fighting stance and charges at Irvine but pulls back and strikes the barrier and a powerful flash is produced at the moment of impact and Irvine is pushed back .....
"Wow strong but still not strong enough Paige" he says in a mocking tone....
Galos gets a little upset... and changes his stance and strikes.... full force easily cleaving and shattering the barrier and knocking Irvine to the ground.......
The students are surprised and so is Khelsi....
"Impressive." a voice says from the corner of the classroom. the figure walks out from the shadows, almost as if he was part of them, and stands next to Galos. "and you are a paige? not a student here? that seems odd. these young fools would be lucky if they lived their whole lives training and gaining the power I sense in you." the figure says. "I am Richard Dupre." he says, bowing to Galos out of respect "oh, pardon me for bowing, in my time it was customary to bow to someone you respect, much like shaking hands in this age, but I have not had much chance to...try it." he says. he holds out his hand to Galos for him to shake it.
(sorry... I'm quite confused on how should I enter Signum so please bear with me...)
Arriving at the school, Signum lifted herself off the horse and led it to its stable. She stroked the horse gently as she fed it some treat. It was, after all, her favorite horse. Her body felt incomplete as the weight of her armor and dual axe were currently non-existent. She walked fast towards her room where all of those were stacked.
After some minutes, she was on her gear, intimidating black heavy armor (in a normal sense) worn and large axe carried without an effort besides her. Since there were no scheduled lessons for the next two days (which is why she was at her home), she simply went to take a stroll.
Her armor slightly clanked as she took steps towards her unknown destination. When she saw some kids taunt another kid, Signum deemed it interesting and decided to watch. She leaned on the door that masked her existence, despite her intimidating armor. There were, after all, spots where people with experience could easily hide in.
As the kid who insulted that Paige was surprised with his barrier being broken, a dangerous aura emitted and she was on her guard. Ignoring the fact that she could have been seen or noticed in the first place, she only eyed the man.
When the man offered his hand, Signum stepped out of her "hiding spot" and readied her might axe besides her if ever a fight broke out. "Excuse me but," her voice was muffled by the full-headed helmet. "since I haven't seen you here even once, may I ask who you are?"
Under the helmet, her eyes were full of suspicion.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Galos shies away..."Power... im just a Paige his barrier broke because his stamina weakened that is all" he says sheathing eternium while the blade resonated
Khelsi created a barrier in front of Galos.....
"GET AWAY FROM HIM" she says as the light from the barrier repels the shadows....
she gets in front of Galos and looks at Richard Dupree
"You ... why is someone like you here shouldn't you be doing the kings bidding since he trusted to set you free" she says
"a being of darkness..., unaging... Galos is my Paige and he has no power" she says
The shadows where repelled, but Richard put his hand on the barrier and closed his eyes. "the light....I miss it so." he whispers as his smile widens, as he does this darkness consumes the barrier, starting from the point Richards hand was on. it then shattered. "I have lived a vary long time, I am experienced in watching heroes rise and fall, and so I think I should be an authority on what to look for in a powerful hero of the kingdom." he says. "I will not ask twice, join me and the team I am creating in the name of the king and not only will you save every last human being alive today, but your name will be remembered in the history books. mine will most likely be the roll of the unsong hero, as often is with someone who is known as a dark sorcerer. it's a shame, I much prefer the term Dark Paladin. reminds me of my past." he then turns to the girl in the armor. "as for you, I said it before, my name is Richard Dupree."
The man named Richard Dupree ignored Signum, a little event that the girl didn't care or didn't took an offense at. She was used to be treated like that at her home, even in her early years so this one, it just added up into those stacks of being nonexistent or less important. She long since accepted that fact and now, she didn't even care much about it. Though she do liked fame and battling.
With the words "served" and "king" during the conversation, she lessened her suspicion of the man but remained her guard.
"Richard Dupree, is it?" She bowed her head slightly but raised her head a second later. "I am Signum Rael." She introduced herself.
"May I ask," she began as she higher-ed the guards of the armor near her eyes using her left arm, "why would you need a team for the sake of humans? Is something wrong?" She stated politely as she already respected the man in the heights of battle.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
"well of course. not many know this, but there is one observant child in this school who has an understanding of what is happening." Richard said "I was going to seek him next. you see, he is a gifted. goes by the name Xavier. and he dared to ask the question no one on this floating rock ever asks. how does an entire city fly?" he says, "well? anyone know the answer?" he smirks as no hands lift, some people even get low to the ground, trying to pretend like they where not there, either out of fear of learning the answer, or embarrassment for not knowing the answer. "you see, a long time ago Dragons ruled the world. sure they shared it with the humans, but the humans never saw it as enough. they wanted full control, for dragons, control was easy. Dragons fly, you see, and so the sky would always be theirs. eventually humans got so greedy, that they killed the dragons, they used their hearts, which is where all living things store their magic, and they learned to fly. sadly, a heart with no dragon is only a container of magic. without life, it can not produce magic. with the dragons gone, the darkness took over the land, humans had to move to the sky, and now we find ourselves in the predicted mess of not having anymore dragon magic. we have, as you say, used up every last drop. now the city will hit the ground in a matter of, I'd say about 2 months. the team I am gathering will be purifying an area of land large enough for the city to land. should we find another way to fly, we will also be harvesting that magic to give us more time, although it is unlikely. there is a war coming, the last remaining humans, clinging to our floating rock, versus all the forces of darkness. our world is falling, and we need heroes to help keep it above the dark." Richard says to the girl in the armor.
Signum listened to the man intently, not missing a single beat. This was the first time she had ever heard of it, that the kingdom was in peril. With the way that she was raised, the girl clad in armor wanted to help. Perhaps it was a sense of responsibility, or perhaps she wanted some sort of acknowledgement. Without thinking about it that much, she informed the man. "Will it be alright if I join you? I may be no hero but my strength can be very much helpful." Signum said with strong resolve and determination.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Galos was surprised that one of Khelsi's standard barriers was broken even being a weak barrier hers are extremely durable...khelsi dismissed the rest of the class..."come forth Galos" she says
Galos looks back at Richard Dupree and Signum...and follows Khelsi.
.....a short while later......
They two had left the school grounds and went to Khelsi's personal training area where she was making Galos train....Galos fired a fireball at khelsi and she deflected it..."good you assimilated the flames as I anticipated. ..now attack" she says as they clashed blades....
"Eris aurous infernum" Galos says as his hands glow a crimson fiery red and the magic symbol appears beneath Khelsi's feet.
(Khelsi)"good move Galos but....you're too slow" she says as the magic circle erupted in a small column of fire.... he keeps an eye on the column and he sees a bright light break the flames.....
Galos unsheathed eternium......
His spell was to slow so he had to fight Khelsi while she was protected by her barrier.....
In seconds she burst forward and kneed Galos....."Calis inferno" he says creating a ball of fire which he aimed at Khelsi at point blank range....but Khelsi reached through the flames and grabbed his hand canceling the spell but he swung his right hand with eternium and it collided with Khelsi's left arm...her barrier withstood. ..until eternium began to glow...and khelsi stopped Galos
"You did good you are battling with magic not only using magic...but your tired get some rest" she says
Galos smiles. .."thank you" he says as walked off
Khelsi looks at her barrier and there is a crack where eternium struck...
"Galos and that blade do have great power Richard Dupree" she says to herself
Khelsi turned to go home and she comes across a figure in a tree....
[Figure]: "So this is the movement against the darkness a Paladin and a newbie caster" he says
Khelsi looks up in the Tree not recognizing the man......but she new he was dangerous due to the demented look on his face...... "State your name and what business do you have spying on a Paladin" she asked
The man smiles..."Spying it is only spying if i have any information to gain but as pathetic level of power i see this was a waste of time....crushing you all who stand against the darkness will be easier that i had first anticipated" he says
Once he said those words Khelsi created a Barrier around him and charged with her blade but the barrier broke... and the man disappeared.
She looked around as she saw the man floating in air and she was wondering what magic was he using ...."A wind caster you must be" she says
the man smiles.... as Khelsi creates platforms of light...."Well whatever your intention fall to the light" she says as she slashes him with a blade but the blade is stopped mid strike and she hears something growl.
Her eyes widen as she is being suffocated...."Very observant Paladin but you know not who you strike you can call me Obsidian... you weak being of the flesh... and i am no mere wind caster but i believe you know that now" he says smiling
"Gi....g....ggg....You........" she tries to say
[Obsidian]"Yes ...a gifted" he says as in a bright flash Khelsi is on the ground as the man named Obsidian walks off
Richard looks the girl over "well....the girl has heart." he thinks to himself.
"yes, she has heart, but you don't want to see someone so weak getting hurt." another voice in his head says. "I know you Richard, better then you even know yourself. you will let her join, she will die, and you will regret it." the voice laughs wickedly in his mind.
"no, NO! QUITE!!! I see it in her. she might be unpracticed, but the light is strong." he thinks, "besides, you never tell me not to do something unless you are afraid of it. you sense it too." he smirks as the dark voice within becomes quite.
"alright, you may join. but you will need some training. find someone who can help you focus your strengths, I must go to find the other candidates." he says, he turns and disappears into a dark portal.
"W-wai--" The girl's to-be formed words were cut off as the man escaped to his fast-made portal. She scratched her chin, attempting to think who would be able to help her. As far as magic and strength goes, the only people she knew were her family. She sometimes talk to other people but it really wasn't about magic and giving her a boost in power. As far as Signum was concerned, she was strong enough to bring down any enemy that might tarnish her family's name, even if it was herself.
"Power, huh..." The Mythril Knight mumbled as she put on her helmet. She remembered one woman who was teaching that other kid... If she remembered right, she was quite a teacher, even her forms and the way she stood told no openings.
Deciding on that, she walked off towards where she remembered that woman walked off.
- - - - - - - - - -
Signum was lost. Or to be more precise, she lost her. She lost Khelsi.
"Where could she be?" She thought. Even though she knew the woman's name since she asked people around while searching for her, no one really saw where she went. The only thing they all said was that she should ask Khelsi's disciple, Galos something.
With no other choice, she headed to where the room was. "This will be one pain in the ass." She whispered as she continued to walk.
- - - - - - - - - -
Arriving at Galos' room, she knocked three time on the door. "Galos Creed. I want to talk to you." She said.
(mkay... well, Khelsi was the only character that seemed nice, even if she didn't have a profile... is it okay to mention her, much less talk to her?)
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
